JOCEY'S BIO AND SUCH

Jocey Asnong was raised by a pack of wild pencil crayons in a house made of paper and stories. When she was tiny she lived at the end of a lane of tall maple trees close to the Great Lakes. As she grew she became a collector of diplomas, spending 6 years in Interpretive Illustration (Sheridan College) and Design (Georgian College). She now lives in the high snowy places near Banff, Alberta where she is often spotted in her mittens or playing with acrylic, chalk and mixed media.

As an illustrator, a painter of one-of-a-kind furniture, a chalk board artist and inventor of other whimsies she has exhibited with the Homegrown Show(2006, 2007), ArtsPeak (2006-2010), CAAG Juried Show (2007 & 2008), Women and Diversity Show (Banff 2007, 2009) and has also exhibited two solo shows (Banff 2006 & 2008). Her artistic creations have also been known to appear in storybooks, advertisements, community based literature, festival promotions, stores, hotels, restaurants, cafes, houses, parades, and even castles.

Jocey's recent projects include writing, illustrating and publishing the children's book 'Nuptse and Lhotse in Nepal',as well as murals, card design, and architectural illustration. She is currently preparing to illustrate 'The Princess and the Cheese' by Shannon Patterson and will be showcasing 'Scavenger Hunt' as part of the Brooklyn NY Arthouse Co-op.
